About Dan

I've worked as a spiritual director since 1996, mostly with church leaders such as pastors, chaplains, teachers, judicatory leaders, presidents and vice-presidents, and CEOs.
I received a Doctor of Ministry degree (with an emphasis in Christian Spirituality) from Columbia Theological Seminary, Decatur, Georgia, and have completed a year-long practicum in supervising spiritual directors from Together in the Mystery. I'm a member of Spiritual Directors International. See an abbreviated vitae here.
From 1990 through January 2021, I worked as a pastor in three different congregations. I'm also a sessional faculty member (sometimes called adjunct professor) at Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary, Elkhart, Indiana, where I teach the courses on spiritual direction. In the past I also taught a course on prayer and scripture.
My wife Jennifer works at Goshen College. We have two adult sons.
